Byoxon vs. Teamwork: Deeper Financial Tracking and Built-In Pipeline Management
This article compares Byoxon (BoB) and Teamwork.com side by side for professional services teams that need to see project margin, not just project status. It covers current 2026 pricing for both products, explains which Teamwork.com plan unlocks profitability reporting, and shows why a built-in sales pipeline changes the total cost of the stack.
Teamwork.com is a mature professional services automation platform. It describes itself as AI-powered PSA, and it is direct about its ambition: run projects, resources and financials in one place. It is not a lightweight task tool, and this comparison does not treat it as one.
Byoxon builds the same category from a different starting point. Its product, BeOnBoard (BoB), treats every tracked hour as a line in a live profit-and-loss statement. It also carries CRM and HR functions inside the same subscription.
So the useful question is not whether Teamwork.com tracks financials. It does. The question is what you must buy to reach them, and what else you must buy alongside. This comparison answers both.

What Teamwork.com does well
Start with the strengths, because they are real and they matter to the decision.
Teamwork.com has spent years on client work specifically. Its project views cover Gantt, table, list and board. Its Desk product turns support tickets into project tasks. Proofs collect structured client feedback on creative deliverables. Its integration catalogue passes 150 connectors, including QuickBooks, HubSpot, Salesforce and NetSuite.
The financial depth on the upper plans is genuine. Optimize carries quotes, multi-currency budgets, tentative project planning, and resource scheduling by role or skill. That is a full PSA feature set, not a reporting bolt-on. Teamwork.com also publishes SOC 2 compliance, two-factor authentication and a choice of US or EU data hosting on every plan. Regulated clients ask for exactly that.
Its AI work is ahead of most of the field. The platform ships named AI agents for planning, project health, utilisation and budget protection. Read the pricing footnote before you build a workflow on them, though. Teamwork.com states that AI is included in paid plans for an introductory period, and that usage-based AI credits launch in September 2026. Ask your account manager what that adds to the bill.
The angle: deeper financial tracking, and a pipeline you do not rent
This is the substance of the comparison. Both platforms report project financials. They package them very differently.
Margin visibility sits on the quote-only tier
Read the Teamwork.com plan ladder from the bottom up. Free lets you log time. Basics, at $9.99 per user per month billed yearly, adds billable time tracking and reporting. Accelerate, at $24.99, adds workload planning, live capacity, time budgets, retainers and client invoicing from logged hours.
Revenue, cost and profitability insights appear one rung higher, on Optimize. Optimize carries no published price. The pricing page says “Let’s talk” and offers a demo booking instead.
That is a legitimate enterprise sales motion, and many vendors use it. It has one practical consequence for a buyer. You cannot model the cost of margin reporting from the website. You enter a sales cycle to learn the number, and the number is negotiated rather than listed.
Byoxon publishes one price list, and the capability set does not change across it. Profit and loss per project, budgets, rates, cost tracking and invoicing sit in the product at every tier, including the free plan for up to five users. Compare your headcount against the rate card and you have your number. Our project cost management software page walks through how that reporting is built.
The pipeline lives in a CRM you buy separately
Teamwork.com markets a pipeline-to-project workflow, and it works well. You build a quote with capacity, timeline, cost and margin already modelled. You then convert the won quote into a delivery-ready project without re-keying anything. Tentative projects let you plan resourcing before a deal closes.
The deals themselves live elsewhere. Teamwork.com is not a CRM, and it does not claim to be. Its own pipeline-to-project page describes creating and updating tentative projects automatically as deals move through your HubSpot pipeline. Salesforce and NetSuite connect on Optimize.

So the full workflow needs two subscriptions, two admin surfaces, and one integration to keep healthy. An agency already standardised on HubSpot or Salesforce gets a real asset from that connector. A 15-person software consultancy that does not want a second platform gets a second bill and a second migration.
Byoxon keeps leads, deals, projects, timesheets and the resulting P&L in one database. The pipeline is a feature, not a connector. That is the practical meaning of built-in pipeline management here: nothing to sync, and nothing extra to license. The same packaging difference drives our Byoxon vs monday.com comparison, where financial reporting has to be assembled from custom formulas.

Pricing: compare the plan you actually need
A headline price only helps if the headline plan does your job. Compare the tier that holds the capability you came for.
| Teamwork.com plan | Price (billed yearly) | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Maximum 5 users, up to 5 projects, 100 automations, log time, organise work by client |
| Basics | $9.99/user/month | Gantt, table, list and board views, unlimited project templates, track and report billable time |
| Accelerate | $24.99/user/month | Smart intake forms, 20,000 automations, workload planning and live capacity, time budgets and retainers, client invoices from logged time, HubSpot and QuickBooks |
| Optimize | Quote only | Quotes, 100,000 automations, CRM pipeline into projects, tentative work planning, resource scheduling by role or skill, financial and multi-currency budgets, revenue/cost/profitability insights, Salesforce and NetSuite |
| Enterprise | Quote only | Advanced security, single sign-on, dedicated success manager, priority support, implementation support |
Byoxon uses volume-based per-user pricing, and every tier carries the same feature set:
| Team size | Price per user / month |
|---|---|
| 1–10 users | $34.95 |
| 11–49 users | $32.95 |
| 50–199 users | $29.95 |
| 200+ users | $24.95 |
| Free plan | $0 for up to 5 users, no feature limitations |

Run the arithmetic on a concrete team. Twelve people who need profitability reporting and skill-based resourcing pay $32.95 each on Byoxon, or about $395 a month, fully loaded. The equivalent Teamwork.com configuration is Optimize plus a CRM subscription. Neither figure is published, so you cannot complete that sum from either website.
That does not make Teamwork.com expensive. It may well quote below Byoxon. It makes the comparison unresolvable without a sales conversation, which is a cost of its own when you are evaluating five tools in a fortnight.
Where Teamwork.com is the better choice
Pick Teamwork.com in these situations.
- You already run HubSpot or Salesforce. The pipeline-to-project connector turns an existing investment into automated resourcing. Replacing your CRM to consolidate would be the more expensive move.
- You need NetSuite or Salesforce as a system of record. Those connectors are first-party and supported.
- Support tickets and project work share a queue. Desk handles that pairing natively. Byoxon does not ship a helpdesk.
- Your buyer asks for SSO, SOC 2 and regional hosting in the RFP. Teamwork.com publishes all three, with EU or US hosting on every plan.
- You want AI agents inside the workflow now. Teamwork.com is genuinely further along here.
- You need a very low entry price for a large team that only tracks time. $9.99 per seat is hard to beat if margin reporting is not yet on your list.
Which tool fits your team
Choose Byoxon when you want one published price, one database, and margin reporting from day one, with the sales pipeline and HR records in the same place. That profile fits software consultancies and IT services firms in the 5 to 60 person range, where nobody has time to administer three platforms.
Choose Teamwork.com when you have an established CRM, a helpdesk requirement, an enterprise security checklist, and the appetite for a procurement cycle to price the tier that carries your financials.
If your shortlist also holds simpler time trackers, our Byoxon vs Harvest comparison covers the same margin question against an invoice-first tool.
Frequently asked questions
Does Teamwork.com show project profitability?
Yes. Teamwork.com lists revenue, cost and profitability insights, financial and multi-currency budgets, and AI profitability forecasting on its Optimize plan. Optimize has no published price; the pricing page directs you to book a demo. Lower plans carry time budgets and billable time reporting rather than full profit and loss.
How much does Teamwork.com cost in 2026?
Teamwork.com publishes a free plan for up to five users, Basics at $9.99 per user per month billed yearly, and Accelerate at $24.99 per user per month billed yearly. Optimize and Enterprise are quote-only. Teamwork.com advertises roughly 29% saving on annual billing versus monthly, and offers a 14-day trial with no credit card.
Does Teamwork.com include a CRM?
No. Teamwork.com positions CRM as an integration category. Its pipeline-to-project workflow reads deals from HubSpot, and the Optimize plan adds Salesforce and NetSuite connectors. Byoxon includes a CRM with lead and deal management in the same subscription as its project and financial modules.
Is Byoxon more expensive than Teamwork.com?
Per published seat, yes: Byoxon starts at $34.95 per user per month against $9.99 for Teamwork.com Basics. The comparison changes once you match capabilities. Byoxon includes profitability reporting, skill-based resourcing and CRM at that one rate, while the equivalent Teamwork.com configuration means the quote-only Optimize plan plus a separate CRM subscription. Price both against your own requirement list.
Can I migrate from Teamwork.com to Byoxon?
Yes. Start on the free Byoxon plan for up to five users, run one live project in parallel, and compare the reported margin against your existing numbers before you move the rest of the team. Contact Byoxon for help importing clients, projects and historical time entries.
