Byoxon vs. Replicon: Compliance-Grade Time Tracking vs. One PSA Subscription
This article compares Byoxon (BoB) and Deltek Replicon for professional services firms. Replicon built its name on accurate, auditable time capture for project-based firms. Government contractors, architecture and engineering practices, consulting companies and IT services organisations are its core market. Deltek completed its acquisition of Replicon on 22 August 2023, and Replicon now sells as a product line inside the Deltek portfolio.
Byoxon starts from a different place. Its product, BeOnBoard (BoB), treats a tracked hour as one input to a live project profit and loss statement. The CRM, the invoicing engine and the HR records sit in the same database as the timesheet.
So this is not an argument about which tool records time more accurately. Replicon records time very well. The question is how many systems your firm has to run before it can answer one sentence: what did this project make?

Where Replicon is the better choice
Read this section before the rest. For several kinds of firm, Replicon solves a problem Byoxon was never built to solve, and no amount of packaging closes that gap.
You bill the US federal government. Deltek markets DCAA-ready time entry by name. If a DCAA audit can reach your timesheets, buy the platform that was designed for that audit.
Your buyer requires FedRAMP. Replicon holds FedRAMP Moderate Authorization. Byoxon markets no equivalent authorisation, so an agency contract that demands one rules Byoxon out at the procurement stage.
You employ people across many jurisdictions. Deltek states that Replicon covers labour compliance in more than 145 jurisdictions across 75+ countries. For a distributed, hourly or unionised workforce, that depth is the product. Byoxon’s calendar and PTO model does not attempt it.
You already run Deltek. If your ERP or project accounting is a Deltek product, Replicon extends a vendor relationship you already manage instead of adding a new one.
Your only gap is time. If your CRM, your billing system and your HR software already work, buying a fifth system to replace all four is the wrong trade. Buy the time platform and keep the rest.
One subscription instead of a time system plus everything else
Here is the scope difference in one sentence. Replicon answers “how many compliant hours did we log.” Byoxon answers “what did this project make,” and hours are one input among several that produce that number.
What Deltek’s own pages describe
Deltek’s Replicon page lists four modules: TimeBill for billable project time, Workforce Management for attendance and scheduling, expense tracking, and global leave management. Intelligent timesheets pull time signals from more than 100 work apps, so the timesheet arrives pre-populated rather than blank.
What those pages do not describe is a CRM, a native invoicing engine, or HR beyond leave. Deltek is explicit about this: Replicon integrates with your existing ERP, HCM, payroll and project management systems rather than replacing them. That is a deliberate, coherent design. It is not a hidden weakness, and it is part of why Replicon can go as deep as it does on compliance.
It becomes a cost only if you do not already own the rest. Then you buy, configure and keep synchronised a CRM, a billing system and HR software on top of the Replicon licence, and someone has to own each sync.
What one Byoxon subscription covers
BeOnBoard keeps those records pointing at each other by default. A deal in the CRM becomes a project. Hours logged against that project carry a cost rate and a bill rate from the person record. Those hours become an invoice, and the invoice minus cost becomes the project P&L. HR profiles, PTO and recruitment sit in the same database. No second login, no nightly sync job, no reconciliation step.
The trade is direct, and it runs both ways. You give up Replicon’s compliance certifications and its labour-law depth. In exchange you stop running a separate CRM, billing tool and HR system beside your time tracker. Pricing compared
Deltek publishes no Replicon price list. The old replicon.com/pricing page now returns a permanent redirect to Deltek’s product page, and that page offers “Request a Demo” and “Request a Quote” in place of a rate card. There is no published tier list, no per-user figure and no stated minimum.
Third-party listings do quote numbers. Review sites list a Replicon time and attendance plan from about $6 per user per month, and list the Deltek Polaris PSA line at roughly $29 per user per month, or $49 with its ZeroTime capture. Treat all of those as resellers’ and review sites’ estimates, not as Deltek figures. They also disagree with each other. Your real number comes from a quote.
Byoxon publishes one volume rate card: $34.95 per user per month for one to ten users, $32.95 for eleven to forty-nine, $29.95 for fifty to one hundred and ninety-nine, and $24.95 for two hundred and above. Every tier carries the full feature set. A free plan covers up to five users with no feature limitations and no credit card.
The practical difference is what each price has to cover. A Replicon quote buys time capture and workforce compliance; a CRM, an invoicing system and HR software still need separate budget lines if you do not already own them.
